V Returning

I just read this at Dark Horizons and its great that it all seems back on Dark Horizons wrote:

Talk of a sequel or remake of the 80's alien invasion mini-series classic "V" has long been in the works, now it seems something might be moving again. In 2004, original series creator Kenneth Johnson proposed to the networks a sequel. He was later asked to write a script for a remake instead and if successful, the remake could lead to a sequel. Two years later Johnson announced his completion of a four hour script entitled "V: The Second Generation" set 20 years after the original mini-series. Networks however showed little interest at the time. Then, last week Johnson released the manuscript in novel form in booksellers and this week revealed on his official site that there will be a major announcement soon to be announced "after the writers strike". This was followed by a short message to a DH reader saying "I really hope you enjoy the novel. Stay tuned for the film version. All the best". Ignoring events of the second mini-series "The Final Battle", 'Second Generation' has Earth still under Visitor domination and the Resistance fighting a losing battle as the majority believe that the Visitors have only helped them. It's then that the message Julie sent into space at the end of the original miniseries is finally heard and an army of aliens, the long-sought enemies of the Visitors, reinforces the Resistance in their time of need. However, all is not as it seems.

Sounds good I hope it happens now

Deathly Hallows... Two Films?

I just Read this on 'ain'titcool'

Word is that the crew of the Potter series have been told to plan for the final book, The Deathly Hallows, to be filmed and released as two movies. Apart from an obvious financial angle, this also makes a whole lot of sense considering just how dense and long the final book is. I love it and I love the idea of doing the book justice with more screen time dedicated to the adaptation, just as long as they release the movies Matrix-like within a few months of each other. I think it'd also make the release of the final chapter of this huge franchise a little more special, too... makes it more of an event.

I really like this idea too I think it could be really great

Champions movie

Guillermo Del Toro is to write and direct a movie version of the hit 60s TV show Champions. It featured 3 government agents working for an intelligence agency called Nemesis, which was based in Geneva. The agents were played by Stuart Damon, Alexandra Bastedo and William Gaunt. When the agents were injured in a plane crash they were given superhuman powers which they used to combat crime.

Clash of the Titans Remake

Latino Review reports that Warner Bros. Pictures is interested in having director Robert Rodriguez in charge of the "Clash of the Titans" remake. Rodriguez had previous been in talks at Warner to helm either a live-action "The Jetsons" movie or a big screen version of "Land of the Lost" before being associated with "Barbarella". With the camp sci-fi remake now on hold for a while, this could be now his new project... The original 1984 classic is an adaptation of the classic Greek myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. Harry Hamlin, Maggie Smith, Laurence Olivier, Burgess Meredith, Ursula Andress, and a bunch of Ray Harryhausen stop motion animated creatures starred. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan and Travis Beacham ("Killing on Carnival Row") have both penned drafts of the script.

Beowulf

Just looked at the trailer there and I have to say Robert Zemeckis's film looks the amazing...he used a special technique of digitally enhanced live action. (Motion Capture) and has a cast list as long as your arm including Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie, Brendan Gleeson, and Robin Wright Penn...oh and that guy from Enterprise (oh well I suppose it can't be all good... eh Cat? lol) The story is based on the epic poem, Beowulf and is about a man who comes to a town to rid it of the monstrosity known as Grendel who terrorizes it.
They also plan on using 3D projection technology on a larger scale than previous films before it Anyway check out the trailer ...here's a link!!

Ant-Man Film

Synopsis: Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.

Edgar Wright plans to direct an action-adventure film with comedic elements, insisting that Ant-Man would not be a spoof. Wright also plans to include both Henry Pym and Scott Lang as major characters, with Pym as Ant-Man in the 60's in Tales to Astonish style, and a flashforward to Lang as Ant-Man's successor in contemporary times.

In February 2007, Wright said that the project was in "a holding pattern" while the script was revised, with casting yet to begin. The director reported that he would have news for the film in a few months. He has been researching nanotechnology for the film.

I'm quite looking forward to this as a Marvel Comics fan ...But I'm actually quite surprised they went with this character particularly Henry Hank Pym (who really is Ant Man for me) but he had quite a different history than most Superheroes made into film that we see....for a start he doesn't stay Ant Man....he later becomes Giant Man, then Goliath (when he discovers new tecnologies to make himself big) and then changes to a Hero called Yellow Jacket where he can shrink anything down in size by touch and can literally carry jumbo Jets or massive rockets minaturised in his pockets. Pym is a bio and robotic genius but in the comics he also had serious mental issues which made him in the comic books a very complex and interesting character ...how they transfer this to a film is another question...should be good though.....

Mad Max: Fury Road

Moviehole says production offices for Mad Max: Road Fury have been reopened, and they are apparently checking out effects houses as a pre-cursor to production. Moviehole says Mel Gibson will not be back. We've previously heard suggestinos that the part of Max Rockatansky would be summarily recast so that the franchise can continue.....this I find disappointing in a way but alsdo intrigued at who they will get to play max now .....

So who do you all think should they get to play the role??
Remember he has to look cool, but also a bit crazy too

The Spirit

The Spirit is a live-action film based on the 1940s newspaper strip The Spirit, created by Will Eisner. Frank Miller (Sin City) is set to write and Direct... Describing the main character Miller stated..... “ The character has a terrifying side to him. This is a man who’s died and come back to life. So it twists into fantasy. And of course there are tons of women in it. There have to be — it’s The Spirit. They’re all in love with him, and he’s in love with all of them. You might say he’s a bit of a slut. ” (Or a bit like me ) The film will not be an origin story, but will immediately start following the adventures of The Spirit. The film will also be more contemporary than the '40s and '50s era of the strip and also aim for a "timeless feel". The protagonist will be involved in a love triangle with Sand Saref and Ellen Dolan, the daughter of Central City's Commissioner Dolan. The controversial character Ebony White will not make an appearance in the film. (Ebony White is a Black sidekick to Denny Colt (The Spirit) and many considered him a racial steriotype....it sounds quite silly to me though)

Its got a great cast too.....
Gabriel Macht as Denny Colt / The Spirit, a rookie cop who returns from the dead to fight crime in Central City from the shadows. Miller had required actors who wanted the starring role to audition, and Macht was able to attain the role in August 2007.
Samuel L. Jackson as The Octopus, a villain who plans to wipe out all of Central City and will kill anyone unlucky enough to see his face. Jackson was Miller's first choice for the role and was cast in May 2007.
Scarlett Johansson as Silken Floss, a femme fatale secretary and accomplice to the Octopus.
Eva Mendes as Sand Saref.
Sarah Paulson as Dr. Ellen Dolan, the police commissioner's daughter.
Dan Lauria as the police commissioner.
Stana Katic as a rookie cop.
Johnny Simmons as a young Denny Colt
Louis Lombardi as Phobos, one of the Octopus's henchmen.
Jaime King as Lorelei Rox.

More news on Terminator 4 and Vin Diesel???

I just read some interesting news about the new T4 film "Charlie's Angels" director McG is in talks to helm the fourth "Terminator" movie which is being rushed to be ready pre-strike.(I don't like the idea of it being rushed though)
A script just got turned in last week to The Halcyon Company who are pushing this into a pre-production start right away. Set after the apocalypse, this story has John Connor organizing the surviving humans to resist Skynet's army of robots.(I love this idea)
Meanwhile another report states that despite being attached to a fourth "Fast and the Furious", actor Vin Diesel is also in talks to be a part of this project - taking the role of the killer robot this time (yes. ... I hope this true...he'd be good)

Tron: The Next Chapter

Director Joseph Kosinski is in negotiations to helm Tron, described as "the next chapter" of the 1982 film. The new Tron project will scripted by Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis and, interestingly, will be produced by original film co-scribe & director Stephen Lisberger.

I love the idea of seeing a Tron film I can't deny it... I do have concerns however on whether it can truly look better or have an equal impact as the original did?

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem directors Greg and Colin Strause spoke to MTV News they apparently distanced themselves from the original AVP saying "The studio knew that, although the last movie made a lot of money, it didn't really resonate solidly with the fans. To get the same people back into the theater a second time, it was gonna be a bit of an uphill battle." They also never met with AVP director Paul Anderson citing "I don't think anyone wanted us to talk to him. This movie works even if you didn't see [Anderson's]... We really have to prove to the fans that this movie's gonna be very different from the last one." The pair also speak of the R-rating, confirming a kid painfully and graphically dies onscreen via a chest burster alien. The Predalien hybrid kills a lot of Predators early in the film, and essentially serves as the 'Alien Queen' in this entry. "I'd like to do another one (A Sequel) but I'd like to do it in space. The next one either has to be more of the bridge after this and before 'Alien,' or you could do something after 'Aliens. We have a pretty finite ending to this, but we have a cliffhanger per se; it's a setup" says Greg.
This I have to admit has me a little intrigued to see what they do with it

Terminator 4 Weisz or Sevigny as Killer Cyborgs???

Rachel Weisz and Chloe Sevigny are reportedly battling it out to play a killer cyborg in the new 'Terminator' film. The Hollywood beauties both tried to impress the producers of the much-anticipated sequel during a Dazed and Confused magazine party at New York nightclub Weisz, 36, and 32-year-old Sevigny are said to have wasted no time in approaching Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, both big hitters at Halycon Company who own the rights to the movie. A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Chloe and Rachel personally inquired to Anderson and Kubicek about the role at the party." The cast for the film is yet to be named, but it is believed a high profile "hunk" has already been cast as the male lead. However, Weisz may struggle to fit any new projects into her already busy schedule. She is already signed up to star in director Peter Jackson's 'Lovely Bones' and next year will start shooting 'Sin City 2' with filmmaker Robert Rodriquez. Meanwhile, Sevigny has low-profile German romance 'Peter and Catherine' on her current filming schedule So would any of you like to see either of the beauties in T4?

I honestly thought the female cyborg was done now...I didn't think we would have a repeat performance of it in this new film?? I thought they would have went for something completely different again like a super advanced kick ass cyborg child perhaps???
